THE UNIVERSE OF Pier Paolo Pasolini.
& Beauty Art from Giotto to Patti Smith
The truth does not lie only in a dream but in many dreams.
A departure from the stereotype of the art exhibition and silent fixed - stepped aside as the protagonist of this exposure by a precise artistic category - so that you can define event-experience, opens June 26 (until November 2) Castle of Charles V of Lecce The universe of Pier Paolo Pasolini. Art and beauty from Giotto to Patti Smith.
Exhibition, sponsored by the Temporary Grouping: Theutra, Oasimed and Novamusa, under the patronage of the Municipality of Lecce, is curated by Gianni Canova, Borsari and Silvia Paola Grappling and designed by Ventundodici Srl. The exhibition is part of the programming for the candidacy of Lecce European Capital of Culture 2019
Inside the path exhibition will present a selection of films, stills juxtaposed with reproductions of works cited, books of poetry and fiction, video documentation , audio and radio, songs written by Pasolini and interpreted by Aisha Cerami, daughter of the famous writer who died last year. Do not miss the testimonies of his career as a painter and a fine selection of shots by photographer Roberto Villa who captured the backstage of the film "The Flower of the Arabian Nights" following Pasolini during filming.
Every Saturday will be shown a film, from those mentioned in in the exhibition. It starts June 28 to 20 with Comizi d'amore (1965) and then on a weekly basis you can attend Mamma Roma (1962); Decameron (1971) and The Flower of the Arabian Nights (1974).
Under the sign of contamination Pasolini's fall all the conventions of art history that divide the arts cinema, high culture from the past from contemporary and popular. In Pasolini reunite all the arts and hatch new arguments and alternative points of view of a rich surprising immediacy.
Pasolini has always caused a scandal by initiating debates and discussions: this exhibition aims to reopen some offering a new and fascinating vantage point, even the most d 'one if you consider the eclecticism Pasolini: his life is full of trials and successful stylistic collisions, as in a role-playing game Pasolini was a poet who turns film, a director who denies the television, a novelist who writes articles, a journalist doing literary criticism, a director who paints always getting the results of an original beauty.
His films are rich in pictorial shots that show his fondness for Giotto, Leonardo, Mantegna and Rosso Fiorentino. In these choices is a strong echo of the notes taken during the lectures on art history of Roberto Longhi.
Pasolini But it is not just a student, is also an artist who creates images with lightning strokes, caricatures, yield surprising. With its "dialectal painting" portrays himself, his friends and many other protagonists of the rich, vibrant and unique cultural season.Pasolini attended Longhi, Moravia, Morante, Maraini, Calvin, and Ungaretti, admire Morandi, Mafai, De Pisis, Rosai, Guttuso and has a problematic relationship with the Pop Art, exploded in those years and landed in Venice in 1964
So an exhibition a large Italian admired abroad and words of Patti Smith relies on their last respects, "Pasolini in New York in the sixties was considered a master by all of us.Go to see his films was a ritual. I remember one time I went to the movies with my friend and Mapplethorpe in the room had already settled Warhol, Morrisey, all the poets and artists as we studied and were inspired to him.
"For the realization of the exhibition is thanked : The Cabinet Scientific Literature GP Vieusseux of Florence; Foundation Studies Roberto Longhi in Florence; the Pinacoteca di Brera and the Museum of the Last Supper in Milan.
Moreover, would not have been possible without the help of Roberto Villa and Rosalba Trebian, Graziella Chiarcossi, Gloria Manghetti, Lynn Goldsmith, Christian Colli, Alberto Grimaldi, Thomas Fidanzia and the collaboration of the library system in Lecce.
